ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has been engaged as a Senior Advisor to Franklin Covey Japan.  "We enable greatness in people and organizations everywhere. We started with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and now provide a number of services and solutions to help people and organizations."  Chris will work with the sales team to support clients in organizational transformation goals, and will continue to work as an executive coach.

ITEM - The Human Resource Management of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, co-chaired by Chris Lamatsch will present an event featuring Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and The 8th Habit.  Titled Making a Contribution, this will be Dr. Covey's first presentation for the committee.

ITEM - The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan has appointed Chris Lamatsch Vice Chair of the Special Events Committee with the  task of producing and promoting interactive, moderated speaker events for 2010.  In addition, Chris will be supporting the Committee Chair in other Special Events through through the course of the year including ACCJ Man of the Year, Joint Chamber Networking events, and the Charity Walkathon.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has joined the Neuroleadership Institute. As a member, he is committed to research in the areas of neurobiology and brain-based research in the areas of leadership development, emotional intelligence and decision-making skills. Chris attended the Neuroleadership Institute Conference in New York last year and has found the entersection of leadership and brain research to be a fascinating new development in how people think, and especially how people can reach their personal and professional goals.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has graduated from the Evidence-Based Coaching Program at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, CA. An intensive year-long course that includes intensive research, coach practice and presentations from experts in the areas that contribute to the art and science of coaching. Dr. Leni Wildflower, director of the program states in the IAC Voice June issue: "An evidence-based approach to coach training draws on a range of related disciplines, including psychology, communication, adult development and organizational studies, and aims to match them with the best current techniques, skills and strategies in coaching." As always in a program like this, the best learning is from fellow students.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has been certified by FranklinCovey to facilitate their new seminar - Leading at The Speed of Trust, "a highly interactive workshop that engages leaders at all levels in the real work of identifying and closing the trust gaps that exist in your organization." ITEM - Chris Lamatsch is proud to announce that Marshall Goldsmith will be guest speaker at the Human Resource Management Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan on October 27. Marshall Goldsmith is the world's pre-eminent executive coach and a leading educator of coaches. Chris met Mr. Goldsmith recently in New York and is the chair of the HRM Committee.

ITEM - For the third straight year, Chris Lamatsch has been invited to attend the Executive Coach Summit in Montreal, Canada. A gathering of executive coaches, this invitation only event is one of the premier conferences for leading thinkers and practioners in the world of coaching.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch will be attending Richard Bolstad's courses in Neuro-linguistic programming this summer. His intention is to become a certified NLP practitioner by the summer of 2009.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has been accepted as a student in the Evidence-Based Coaching program offered by Fielding Graduate University. Fielding is a premier distance learning institution focusing on education, psychology and organizational development. The Evidence-Based Coaching program combines research in the theoretical origins of coaching, a focus on executive coaching and organizational theory, and hands on coach training.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has been accepted as a senior consultant with OI Partners Hong Kong. He will provide Executive Coaching and Consulting Services for OI Partners' clients in Japan. OI Partners is part of the world's largest career consulting partnership, OI Partners Inc. (formerly Outplacement International). The partnership, established in 1987, now has over 200 offices in 21 countries.

ITEM - Our joint ICF Coaching in Asia SIG and Coaches of the Round Table teleconference call was a great success. Mr. Foo See Luan described his role in establishing and leading the Singapore Chapter of the ICF and we had representatives from Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Japan call in.

ITEM - Chris Lamatsch has become the leader of the International Coach Federation (ICF) Coaching in Asia Special Interest Group. The next meeting will be March 2, 2006 at 8 p.m. Tokyo time and will feature Mr. Foo See Luan, President of the Singapore Chapter of ICF on the topic of Building a Local Coaching Community.

ITEM - Coaches of the Round Table turns two years old. Coaches of the Round Table is a networking group open to anyone interested in coaching, being coached, or just hanging around people who are drawn to this exciting new profession. In the last two years we have had a number of exciting gatherings. The mailing list is now over 300 people.
